I had a frustrating multi-round process that ended after the role was already filled internally.

Multiple technical rounds with machine tests — I went through five rounds total, including two machine-test rounds after clearing earlier stages.
Extended manager interview — In the manager stage, the interview lasted about 1.5 hours before I was told they’d schedule an HR round later.
Sudden closure — After that, I learned they had hired someone internally. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway is to be cautious when timelines stretch and later signals suggest the position may already be decided.
