I interviewed for an Account Executive role with an average, sales-focused flow that combined interviews with direct exposure to the job through shadowing.

Phone interview — I was asked standard sales-oriented questions, including the possibility of a mock sales pitch.
In-person interview — I answered situational questions and discussed my background.
Shadow an employee — I spent time observing an active account executive and then debriefed afterward.
Manager follow-up — I reviewed what I learned with another manager and was told about the next step. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, but the process felt structured and role-revealing.
