I interviewed for a senior frontend-oriented Software Engineer role at Dynatrace and found the technical part unexpectedly vague and more theoretical than practical, even though the overall process was professional.

Hiring-manager discussion — a respectful, polite conversation with a focus on senior frontend concepts.
Technical interview (frontend concepts) — I spent time on high-level topics like Virtual DOM and SSR, plus identifying commonly used React hooks; the questions felt more like theory than senior-level scenario work. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; I felt the interview didn’t leave much room to demonstrate practical architecture, performance trade-offs, or real debugging/scaling depth.
