San Francisco, CAPosted Sep 2020 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I was reached out to by a recruiter after applying online, and I was sent a very hard coding challenge that focused on memoization using a trie.

I had about seventy minutes, and I didn’t feel like I could brute-force it—I had to figure out an approach under time pressure. A phone interview followed the next week, and even though I thought I did really well on that technical call, I later found out I wasn’t moving forward.

That rejection landed with a clear message to me: the bar felt high even for internship-level roles. The whole experience was intense, and I walked away feeling like I could see the shape of the standard they were using, even if I didn’t meet it.
