I was contacted by a recruiter through LinkedIn, and the initial plan moved straight into a tech screen that was set up like a code pair exercise with an engineer.

They restricted which programming languages I could use, which was a little frustrating because it narrowed what I was comfortable in.

The recruiter was friendly and shared enough detail about compensation, which made the setup feel real and not vague. But after the technical screen, the process basically stalled. I didn’t hear back for a while, and it came off like being quietly dropped without any explanation. The rejection itself wasn’t even the biggest issue — the silence was. It left a sour impression and made me decide I wouldn’t want to deal with them again.
