San Francisco, CAPosted Apr 2017 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had an initial screening focused on culture and product, followed by a take-home code challenge that involved working inside an existing Rails application and adding features.

The assignment wasn’t just about making something “work”—it was about both completing the features and structuring the code cleanly as I went. After that, I met a couple of senior engineers in person-style technical conversations, covering Ruby, Rails, databases, and JavaScript, plus some behavioral questions.

The final step was a call with the VP of Engineering. That conversation was short but informative, and it also tied the company direction back to what the team valued. After the VP call, I got an offer quickly—within a couple hours—and I accepted.
