Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Discord Software Engineer and built a chat-server solution through a requirements checklist approach with medium difficulty.

Structured build-out — I implemented a chat server with multiple key requirements; I could either cover everything up front or tackle each requirement incrementally. Coding ran in my local IDE, and I could use tools/AI agents while sharing my screen throughout. Outcome: No offer result was recorded; the process rewarded clarity, incremental progress, and maintaining a coherent implementation plan.
