Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Discord Software Engineer with a focused implementation task: a short, timed full-stack feature build.

Take-home / timed feature implementation — I implemented a Discord-style message reactions feature using JavaScript with React for the frontend and NodeJS for the backend. I had about two hours, then submitted both the solution and a brief write-up covering trade-offs and potential improvements. Outcome: I don’t have a recorded offer decision; the process emphasized practical full-stack delivery and thoughtful trade-off discussion.
