I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a front-end leaning live coding component, where I could work interactively on-screen.

Recruiter screen — discussed background in a short phone call.
Live coding (React component) — I was asked to design and implement a relatively small React component while sharing my screen; in one case the interviewer helped keep expectations clear and we had back-and-forth.
How it was graded — the technical bar focused on choosing appropriate structures/data handling; nerves caused suboptimal decisions in one attempt. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway was that doing well meant both clear reasoning while building and selecting the right approach early.
