Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Discord Software Engineer role with a medium difficulty game-implementation coding round focused on architecture and correctness.

Build a Snake game — I implemented a Snake game with provided control code for direction via arrow keys, updating every second, ending on boundary hits, and eating apples to grow and score. I had to handle multithreading, abstract interfaces, boundary checking, dynamic apple placement in empty spaces, and maintaining the snake’s shape and movement trajectory. Outcome: No offer result was recorded; the round tested engineering discipline beyond basic gameplay logic.
