I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with Discord’s distinctive networking/server-style technical questions, and the process felt like “play the game” preparation.

Recruiter screen — a behavioral phone screen about past experience.
Hiring manager screen — another behavioral call covering my experience.
Technical screen — a niche socket programming task to build a chat server; I practiced beforehand and implemented what the interviewer requested.
Outcome: I didn’t move forward, but I felt the exercise was something you could succeed at if you had specifically prepared for that networking pattern.
