United StatesPosted Jul 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a heavy, multi-round virtual onsite over a short time window, and I found it extremely time-intensive.

Recruiter screen — a 30-minute call covering my background and how I fit the role.
Experience call (engineering manager) — a 45-minute conversation focused on experience and principles.
Virtual onsite — a structured, ~6.5 hour day with an intro, then a sequence of rounds: principles, two separate coding exercises, an architecture exercise, a culture segment, a lunch break, and a wrap-up.
Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, but I left feeling like I’d performed well during the final round; the follow-up timing and lack of offer put me in limbo despite early positivity.
