The whole process took a long time, but it was mostly smooth until the final stage.

I was rejected at the last round, and what really threw me off was that the last interviewer was unfamiliar to me and changed without any notice.

Because of that switch, the conversation started in a slightly awkward place. The interviewer didn’t seem certain about the process or how to proceed, and that uncertainty made the final round feel less coherent than everything before it. I left with a no and a lingering sense that the rejection was hard to interpret, since the disruption came from the lack of continuity, not from anything about my performance being clearly explained.
