My recruiter screen itself was what threw me off.

The HR conversation felt like it was running on autopilot—almost like the interviewer was sticking to a script and didn’t really listen to what I said. When I answered, the follow-up questions didn’t connect back to my previous responses, and the whole thing felt rigid rather than interactive.

Because of that, the process never really got traction. Instead of feeling like a dialogue where I could clarify context, it felt like I was being asked questions in a sequence regardless of my answers. Even the tone was overly mechanical, and it didn’t leave room for me to make a case for myself.
