I experienced a relatively compact process that still included a small “test of work.” I went through three rounds of interviews, and alongside them there was a homework assignment that took about two hours, including some setup work with CMake.

The interviewers weren’t trying to catch me out—most of what they asked felt technical, but not overly tricky.

My conversations stayed friendly and natural, and I spent most of the time discussing relevant technical topics rather than doing live coding as an assessment. Even though I ended up being hired, I didn’t feel like the day-to-day work they described during interviews matched what I ended up doing. It left a strange mismatch between how the interviews framed things and what I actually walked into.
