The hiring manager conversation itself went fine, but the way the process was run around it felt disrespectful of my time.

A big part of what happened next centered on a take-home assignment that typically took about two to three days to complete. The talent team didn’t really talk to me until that point, and it made the process feel like it was optimized for collecting work rather than having a real discussion.

Even after sending over the assignment, I wanted to clarify compensation expectations first—my situation was that their range would effectively set me back years. I asked to align before investing more time, but I was told the conversation about that should happen only after I finished the assignment.
