CIBC Software Engineer interview experience

The questions were typical and human—things like walking through my experience, talking through basic behavioral topics, and connecting my skills to what the team was hiring for. In some moments it felt like the conversation skipped the usual script, but the intent was still clear: understand who I was and whether my experience matched the role.

After that, I moved into a follow-up interview or assessment phase. One path included an online assessment focused on basic Python string work, and another kept things lighter with a second interview that mixed technical and behavioral conversation.
