I experienced a staged process where I had to clear each phase sequentially, but the later step didn’t go in my favor.

CBT / online test — first a computer-based test that had to be cleared to continue.
Telephonic round — a phone interview where I received positive feedback to proceed.
Face-to-face round — an in-person round after which I expected to continue, but the process ended without progressing. Outcome: I was not selected; the key takeaway was that moving forward depended heavily on passing each phase in order.
