Chargebee Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Hard

Positive

ChennaiPosted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My journey started with a technical round that went deep on Java fundamentals—especially Spring Boot concepts—along with DSA problems and SQL queries.

The interviewer was very conceptual and wanted strong clarity, not just surface-level answers.

The next day brought a system design round where I had to walk through design problems, explain my approach clearly, and justify the decisions I was making.

After that, there was an HR discussion the next day that mixed behavioral questions with academic background and database concepts like indexing and normalization. I was honest and thorough, and while the HR part felt more conversational, I ultimately didn’t receive an offer for the software engineering internship role.
