I went to an in-person drive where the process was short and heavily situational, but the compensation outcome didn’t align with what I expected.

F2F technical interview (one round) — questions based on 5–8 years of experience; the interviewer preferred situational scenarios instead of purely “google” style questions.
HR / offer discussion — HR shared a package that was below my current CTC and included a variable portion that further reduced the effective value. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the takeaway is that even if the technical discussion goes well, compensation alignment can end the process.
