I interviewed for Software Engineer roles through a multi-round setup (coding, technical, manager, HR) where the managerial step felt subjective and sometimes dismissive.

Online coding assessment — I was screened with an online coding round.
In-person technical interviews — I faced coding and Python-focused questions like lists/dicts plus iterators/generators.
Managerial round — The manager discussion centered more on my projects and career questions than technical deep dives.
HR conversation / salary fit — HR covered compensation and role alignment. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, and my takeaway was that even after technical clarity, subjective managerial evaluation could end it.
