Burns & McDonnell Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Hard

Negative

United StatesPosted Mar 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview process was long and repetitive.

It felt like they wanted me to know everything and prove I understood a lot before they’d move forward.

By the time a decision came, the offer itself was low, and they tried to justify it with a higher retirement plan that came with a vesting requirement of about six years. The structure and the way the compensation story was framed made the end of the process feel like a tradeoff rather than a clear win.

I didn’t receive an offer in the end, and the biggest takeaway for me was that the effort-to-reward ratio didn’t feel aligned.
