After a recruiter reached out, I moved into a quick Zoom screen where the interviewer spent a short amount of time on my resume before jumping into a couple of easy-to-medium style coding questions.

The session felt structured and not overly adversarial, and it ended with time reserved for my questions.

That was followed by another interview format at a career center setting. I again started with a resume-focused portion, then went through a couple of LeetCode-style problems and wrapped up by asking questions. Across these early rounds, I was usually given a medium question set for the first cut, with some behavioral prompts blended in so they could map my experience to the coding.

Even though I got along with the interviewer and felt like I solved what I was given, I didn’t progress.
