Bloomberg Software Engineer interview experience

I had to do pair programming on a shared codepad, and before I actually coded I was asked resume-related questions and got a brief sense of the role. The coding prompt was a medium-ish tree traversal task tied to spelling words from a structure of characters.

The rest of that round felt structured and contained: after the problem, I went through it while thinking out loud, and the interviewer kept the session moving with a clear wrap-up at the end. Overall it didn’t feel brutal—more like a straightforward test of whether I could translate an algorithm into working code in a reasonable time.
