My experience started like a typical recruiter-led sequence: an online application, a recruiter phone screen, and then an in-person interview.

The recruiter I worked with seemed nice, but the prep she provided didn’t match what came up later. I showed up expecting certain topics based on what we discussed, and then those exact areas barely appeared.

In the in-person stage, I noticed the hiring managers didn’t really engage the way I expected. They seemed disinterested, asked very little, and the overall impression was that they wanted to get through the interview quickly. When I eventually got feedback, it was framed as a lack of experience, even though my experience was already on my resume.

Another part of the friction for me
