My interview started with the project manager and another person focused on WAN.

Right away, the project manager told me why I wasn’t qualified based on my resume, focusing heavily on one preferred requirement where I was weaker.

The whole dynamic felt off from the start, and I was even told that they were ready to go home so I shouldn’t drag out my answers. What was confusing was that my previous conversation with the recruiter and the way I understood the match made me think I was a strong fit. Ultimately, it felt like the hiring manager got stuck on something that would only matter later in the project, and my experience didn’t weigh as much as it should have.
