My interview process centered on a screening with the technical lead of the project.

They emphasized that strong knowledge of Backbase’s products mattered, and they also cared about unit testing specifically.

The vibe was focused and product-aware rather than purely general software questions. I didn’t feel like it was a broad survey of everything I knew; it was more about whether my experience matched how they build and test.

I didn’t receive an offer. My reflection was that the criteria were at least clear—product knowledge and unit testing—but the interview still felt like a high bar to meet end-to-end.
