My process took about three weeks and involved three calls with senior management.

Every person I spoke with was genuinely nice, which made it easier to be myself and express what I cared about in my work. The conversations felt more like thoughtful dialogue than rapid-fire assessment.

Because it was senior-led, I had more room to explain my values and how I thought about the kind of work I wanted to do. The overall tone stayed positive from start to finish.

Ultimately, I did get the role. Looking back, the part that surprised me most was how smoothly everything moved when the interviews were with leadership rather than a long sequence of formal panels.
