San Francisco, CAPosted May 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Software Engineer in a relatively straightforward early loop, with a quick technical coding challenge and system design emphasis, but I didn’t progress.

HR call — An initial conversation followed by instructions for the coding environment.
Phone screen with coding + system design — A roughly hour-long session using a coding pad/link, including a LeetCode-style problem and a system design question.
Design gap — I handled part of the coding fine but struggled with the design portion and was advised to study system designs more. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was to prepare system design examples at the depth they expect for the round.
