My interviews centered on a formal job talk about my research from my PhD work, and it immediately set the tone.

I gave a presentation in the neighborhood of 40 minutes, and even though it was clearly an evaluative setting, the follow-up felt more conversational than combative.

The structure still came with a lot of interaction throughout the day, and I remember the overall pace feeling heavy—full-day meetings layered on top of the seminar made it more tedious and demanding than I expected.

By the end, I felt like the process was testing both my technical clarity and my ability to carry a research discussion
