I interviewed for a summer research intern role and the process was very lightweight over a short timeline.

Initial phone screen — a ~15-minute call where my supervisor and the program director reviewed job requirements and asked about my interest in the work.
Follow-up planning — the program director said it was fine if I wasn’t familiar with their specific software yet and suggested I learn it during the internship. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, but the experience felt easy and supportive for a summer internship.
