I experienced an extensive hiring process where I had to be ready for both behavioral and technical discussions, but the outcome wasn’t successful.

Phone screen — I did an initial call covering my background and experience, plus basic behavioral follow-ups.
Phone interviews — I went through additional phone conversations before advancing.
Onsite interview — I completed an on-site round and was advised beforehand to review their publications and be prepared for technical as well as behavioral questions. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the key takeaway was that success depended on showing research depth grounded in their published work.
