My interview round was basically a direct technical check paired with a recruiter conversation.

The technical part had me code in C and then in assembly, counting binary ones for an integer parameter.

It didn’t feel complicated overall, but the assembly component definitely changed the tone. I got the sense that the assembly segment was meant to trip people up, even if the underlying idea was straightforward. I ended up getting an offer, and my main reflection was that it tested both “can you implement” and “can you switch contexts” without being overly vague.
