The interview happened over Zoom, and it had a weird energy from the start—it felt like the decision had already been made before I really got underway.

The format was basically rapid-fire questions covering technical knowledge.

The questions came quickly, and it wasn’t the kind of back-and-forth discussion where I could fully explain nuance; it was more about immediate correctness and familiarity. I realized mid-way that I didn’t like the vibe, and it actually disillusioned me because I’d always wanted to work at AMD.

I didn’t get an offer. Looking back, the disappointing part wasn’t only the outcome—it was how the process felt already predetermined.
