I interviewed for an AMD Software Engineer role in Vancouver, BC, and it came in two technical rounds.

Each round had the same general structure: one medium question with a follow-up that built on it. Even though it was still technical, the interviewers also asked at least a couple of soft-skill questions along the way.

The overall vibe was okay, but some follow-up questions were genuinely tough. What threw me off was the expectation around how quickly I’d be able to ask for clarification if I needed it—there was a subtle sense that I should know when to request hints rather than push through without support. I remember feeling that the follow-ups were where the difficulty really showed.
