After a referral, a recruiter reached out immediately and scheduled a telecon for the next business day.

The call didn’t align well with what I thought I was being considered for, because the specific position wasn’t posted clearly and the team role wasn’t well understood on my side. Once the conversation ended, I asked more questions about the role and team, and I realized my earlier answers weren’t the strongest they could have been. I ultimately didn’t get an offer, and the reflection I had was that I needed a clearer match between my background and the team’s expectations earlier in the process.
