I got reached out to by a recruiter after an initial conversation, then moved into a phone screen.

That phone screen wasn’t just a verbal interview—it had me solve something using an online collaboration tool, so the evaluation depended on being able to work in that environment.

After that, I was invited to an onsite where I talked with several engineers, the hiring manager, and HR. Most questions were technical, but I also got behavioral prompts mixed in.

I didn’t get an offer. The hardest part for me was adjusting to the different format of the collaboration tool during the phone screen, because it changed how I paced my thinking and how I communicated my solution.
