I set up a phone interview with the hiring manager that felt pretty basic.

They told me I would hear back in about two weeks, so the timing promise gave me some confidence.

But it stretched: three weeks passed with no word, and I reached out to HR to ask for an update. I didn’t get any information back and it didn’t feel like there was any meaningful follow-up.

I considered it a rejection, and that’s essentially how it ended. My honest reflection was that the lack of even a short closure message after the promised timeline made it harder to move on.
