Amazon Lab126 Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Posted Nov 2012 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I submitted my resume at a college career fair, then did a phone screen interview before moving into two in-person interviews.

The in-person rounds matched what I expected from the start: they asked run-of-the-mill questions about string manipulation and about my previous projects, plus some explicit questions around Java data structures.

The format was straightforward and didn’t feel like they were trying to be clever just for the sake of it. The questions stayed anchored to core engineering fundamentals and my actual experience.

I received an offer, and overall it felt like a fair, ordinary evaluation of whether my background matched what they needed.
