I ended up having four interviews, and the last one was with the client they were working with.

By the end, I was told they had decided to go with someone else for the role.

What confused me was that they later reached out again to ask whether I was still interested. I replied, and then I was ghosted—no follow-up after that.

Overall, it was hard to reconcile because the communication started to feel inconsistent. The process ended without a clean, respectful close, and that lingered even though I’d already been told they were moving on.
