My process leaned heavily on technical assessment right away, and it felt like they were trying to measure practical ability quickly.

I started with an initial screen, then the selection moved into a coding challenge made of multiple parts: multiple-choice questions, exercises involving SQL queries, and additional tasks that required writing code in Java. The second part of the technical loop was more of a conversation—questions spanning Kafka, SQL, Java, and Angular.

After that, there was also an online testing phase that I hadn’t been clearly told about upfront. The test itself took about an hour, and it arrived after weeks of no contact, which caught me off guard because the timing and expectation weren’t transparent.
