My process started the typical way: I submitted an application, then they called to set up a more direct 1-on-1.

In that interview, the manager asked about my life and what would make me a good addition to the store as a part-time employee. The conversation wasn’t overly technical—more about whether my schedule and mindset made sense for the role.

What stuck with me was how they mapped out the path from there. If someone wanted to move up, they said there would be additional steps—like interviewing again with the store manager and then with the DM—before hiring. Separately, I also had a moment where the manager went over my resume, asked about my experience, and talked through my hours of availability
