I interviewed for a Software Engineer role where the process felt easy, but the discussions around pay and role clarity were not handled well.

Intro interviews — I went through the standard early conversations, but the role details and responsibilities weren’t explained thoroughly.
Compensation handled late — When I asked about salary, it was deferred to later stages or to an offer.
Offer decision over compensation — I ultimately refused an offer because the compensation was too low for the constraints and the skills expected. Outcome: No offer accepted, and the takeaway is that salary clarity and negotiation were effectively blocked.
