My interview leaned into unconventional questions meant to understand how I thought.

Alongside those prompts, the interviewer shared information about why they were recruiting and explained the company’s culture and where the team was headed.

We also talked through other open positions, and it felt like the conversation was designed to see how I reasoned through ambiguity more than how quickly I could answer a checklist. I didn’t end up with an offer, but the style of the discussion was consistent with a deeper interest in my decision-making process.
