Agilent Technologies Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Hard

Positive

Wilmington, DEPosted Jun 2013 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My formal interview was split into two sections: technical and behavioral.

What surprised me was how much weight the behavioral side carried. I’d expected the engineering portion to dominate, but the emphasis was also on personality and how well I’d represent the company day to day, not just whether I was a strong engineer.

That focus made the overall difficulty feel higher than I expected, even though the format itself was pretty clearly divided. I did not end up with an offer, but I left with a clear understanding that this role’s bar included communication and culture fit as much as technical competence.
