I started the process and it stretched to about three months end to end, mostly because another manager kept slowing things down.

It felt like I was ready to move forward, but the momentum kept getting lost while things were being finalized.

Eventually I got to the point where the delay made sense—later it came out that the manager wasn’t just busy, they were effectively neglecting responsibilities and ended up getting fired. Even with the eventual completion, the process was hard on my patience because I kept waiting for a decision that seemed to depend on someone else moving first.
