My start was a phone screening where it felt like a friendly get-to-know-you conversation, with a good connection.

Everything seemed to go well, but then I got ghosted for about a month.

When I followed up, I received a dry response saying they had hired for an unrelated position and that I could notify colleagues if needed. It wasn’t hostile, just abrupt and unhelpful, and it left me feeling like the process didn’t have much closure.

I never got to the next steps after that. The reflection I had was that even a smooth initial screen can still end without any real communication if internal priorities shift.
