My process started with an interview that focused on different architectures and approaches, and I remember feeling like it went well—I was even told I did well afterward.

After that, they asked me to complete a homework assignment.

I put a lot of time into the assignment, which ended up being a big investment. What threw me off was that there never seemed to be any clear follow-up interview after I submitted it. I sat with long gaps of no updates until I reached out again for a status check.

Eventually, they told me they had decided to go with someone else, but there was no feedback and no explanation about what could be improved. The lack of closure left me with a pretty bad taste, mainly because the process felt like it stalled after I’d done the work.
