Best Interview Prep Platforms for Data Analysts (2026)

Eight data analyst interview prep platforms compared on SQL practice, product and case rounds, company-specific content and price, checked Oct 15, 2026.

Short answer

Which one should you use?

A data analyst loop usually has three parts: a SQL screen, a product or business case (metrics, funnels, A/B tests), and a stakeholder or behavioral round. No single tool covers all three equally well, so most people end up with one SQL tool plus one tool for the case and communication rounds. Here's where I'd start:

01Company-specific prep (a named company and role, like Data Analyst at Meta): Dataford (I run it).
02Focused, cheap SQL drilling: DataLemur.
03Largest bank of company-tagged SQL and Python questions: StrataScratch.
04Broad curriculum incl. product sense and A/B testing: Interview Query.
05Free structured SQL plan: LeetCode SQL 50.
06Courses plus practice for career switchers: Analyst Builder.
07Stakeholder, presentation and behavioral rounds: Revarta.
08Product analyst course with peer mocks: Aced (formerly Exponent).

I run Dataford, so read my take on it with that in mind. Every other entry links to the product's own page or a third-party review so you can check it yourself.

The table puts 8 options side by side on best for, sql practice, product / case rounds and company-specific content, with price in the last column. Revarta, StrataScratch, LeetCode SQL 50, Analyst Builder each have at least one red cell, a column they don't cover. Dataford is the row built around one company and role, with loop guides, real questions, AI mocks and 1:1 coaching, at $29 a month or $89 a year. Read across your weakest round first, then check price.

Verdict

How I'd pick

Know your loop first.Find the company's analyst interview format (recruiter screen, SQL screen, case, onsite) before you buy anything. Most loops weight SQL heavily, and PracHub's comparison makes the same point: focused SQL practice pays off fastest for analysts.
Pick one SQL tool.DataLemur if SQL is your only gap and you want it cheap. StrataScratch if the role also tests Python.
Pick one tool for the case and communication rounds.Dataford or Interview Query for product cases and A/B testing questions; Revarta or Aced if you want spoken practice for stakeholder rounds.
Try before you commit. Most tools here have a free tier or free sample, and Dataford's monthly plan cancels anytime. Pay for a year only once you know what you'll actually use.
01

Dataford (company-specific analyst prep)

Dataford organizes prep by company and role. Pick a company and role, like Data Analyst at Meta or Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon, and you get the reported interview process for that loop, real reported questions, AI mock interviews, and SQL practice where the loop needs it. The product analyst role hub covers SQL, product analytics, metrics, A/B testing and explaining results to non-technical stakeholders, and links out to company guides.

01Good for: Candidates with an onsite at a specific company who want to see how that company runs the analyst loop.
02Weaker on: Light on behavioral coaching. Some company guides are built from a small number of reports, so treat their offer rates and salary figures as rough.
03Price: $29/month or $89/year, with the same features on both plans.
041:1 coaching: 40+ coaches who currently work at companies like Meta, Google, Amazon, Databricks, Snowflake, Stripe and Netflix, each with a verified-employer badge, across data, engineering (including forward deployed and AI/ML), product and consulting roles. Sessions are 60-minute mock interviews or strategy calls, priced from about $109 to $339 per session (most are $139 to $209), with written feedback afterward. Sessions are anonymous (the coach sees your first name only, and nothing is recorded), and you can cancel free up to 24 hours before. Coaching launched on October 17, 2026 with 40+ coaches, and we expect to pass 500 in the next couple of months as we add a more human side to prep on Dataford. Every session runs inside Dataford itself, with no separate Zoom or Google Meet link, so booking, the mock and the feedback all sit in one place.
05Scale: 80+ roles, 15,000+ companies, 51,000+ real interview questions and 86,000+ interview guides.
06Disclosure: I founded Dataford.
02

DataLemur

DataLemur is Nick Singh's SQL practice site (he co-wrote Ace the Data Science Interview). Every question has a hint and a full written solution, and you can pick PostgreSQL or MySQL.

01Good for: Analysts whose main gap is SQL.
02Weaker on: The bank is small enough to finish, and there's little for case or behavioral rounds.
03Price: free account; $15/month, $60/year or $300 lifetime bundle.
03

StrataScratch

StrataScratch has the biggest bank of company-tagged SQL and Python questions here (1,000+ across SQL, Python and R), supports four SQL dialects, and has an AI mock interview tool.

01Good for: Analyst roles that test Python as well as SQL.
02Weaker on: The size can make it hard to know what to work on next. Light on product cases.
03Price: free tier; $24/month, $139/year or $289 lifetime.
04

Interview Query

Interview Query covers the whole data loop: SQL, product sense, statistics, A/B testing, take-homes, company guides and paid coaching. Its Statistics & A/B Testing learning path is one of the stronger free-to-browse resources for experimentation questions.

01Good for: Candidates with several weeks who want one curriculum.
02Weaker on: More curriculum than most analyst loops need, and pricier than SQL-only tools.
03Price: Monthly, yearly and $299 lifetime plans; check the pricing page for the current monthly rate.
05

LeetCode SQL 50

A free, structured 50-problem SQL plan: 32 easy, 17 medium and 1 hard.

01Good for: A free warm-up, or engineers who also need algorithm prep.
02Weaker on: Generic. Nothing for product cases.
06

Analyst Builder

Courses in SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI and Python plus 200+ practice questions on one subscription.

01Good for: People moving into analytics from another field.
02Weaker on: Built around courses and general practice rather than specific company loops.
03Price: free plan; $34/month or $20.75/month billed yearly.
07

Revarta

Revarta focuses on the rounds that SQL tools skip: stakeholder conversations, case presentations and behavioral questions, with voice-based practice. Its own guide says to pair it with a SQL platform.

01Good for: Analysts who are fine on SQL but lose offers in the final rounds.
02Weaker on: No SQL execution.
03Price: $39/month, $99 for 90 days or $349 lifetime.
08

Aced (formerly Exponent)

Aced has a dedicated product analyst course covering SQL, analytics cases, product sense, experimentation and stakeholder communication, plus peer mock interviews.

01Good for: Product analyst candidates who want a structured course and live peer practice.
02Weaker on: AI mock interviews are only on the Expert plan, and coaching costs extra.
03Price: Free Basic; Pro $79/month or $12/month billed yearly; Expert (adds AI mock interviews) $99/month or $20/month billed yearly.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the best interview prep platform for data analysts?

It depends on your gap. For a specific company's loop, I'd start with Dataford. For SQL only, DataLemur. For SQL plus Python volume, StrataScratch. For a broad curriculum, Interview Query.

What is the best free SQL practice for data analyst interviews?

LeetCode SQL 50 is free and structured. DataLemur and StrataScratch also have free access with real interview-style questions.

Do data analyst interviews include product sense and A/B testing?

Often, especially for product analyst roles at tech companies. Expect metric design, metric-drop investigations and basic experiment design next to the SQL screen.

How long should I prepare for a data analyst interview?

It depends on your starting point and the loop. Spend most of your time on SQL and on one or two practice cases for the target company.

How much does Dataford cost?

Plans are $29/month or $89/year with the same features on both plans.

Should I pay for more than one platform?

Usually not. One paid tool plus free tiers elsewhere is enough for most analyst loops.

Does Dataford offer 1:1 coaching?

Yes. Dataford has 40+ coaches who currently work at companies like Meta, Google, Amazon, Databricks and Stripe. Sessions are 60-minute mock interviews or strategy calls, from about $109 to $339 per session (most are $139 to $209), with written feedback afterward. Sessions are anonymous and nothing is recorded, and you can cancel free up to 24 hours before.
