Best DataLemur Alternatives for SQL and Data Interviews (2026)

Eight DataLemur alternatives for SQL practice and full data interview loops by company and role, with prices checked Oct 18, 2026.

Short answer

Which one should you use?

DataLemur is a cheap, focused SQL practice site for data interviews, built by Nick Singh, co-author of Ace the Data Science Interview. It's a great SQL warm-up. People look elsewhere when they need more questions, more languages, company-specific prep or help with the rounds beyond SQL. These are the alternatives I'd look at:

01Prep for a specific company and role: Dataford (I run it), for loop guides, real interview questions and mock interviews for roles like Data Analyst at Amazon or Data Engineer at Meta, plus 1:1 coaching with people who work there.
02A bigger SQL and Python bank: StrataScratch.
03The full data science loop: Interview Query.
04Courses with AI practice: DataInterview.
05Career switchers into analytics: Analyst Builder.
06Free SQL fundamentals: LeetCode SQL 50 or HackerRank.
07Recent real questions by company: PracHub.

I run Dataford, so keep that in mind. I link to each site's own pages so you can check prices and features yourself.

Context

Why people look for a DataLemur alternative

01Mostly SQL. Data loops also test product sense, statistics, experimentation, data modeling and behavioral questions.
02A smaller bank. Once you've done the questions, you may want more volume.
03Two dialects. It uses PostgreSQL or MySQL, so people who need other dialects or Python look elsewhere.
04Little on the loop. It doesn't explain how a specific company runs its interview.

The table puts 9 options side by side on best for, company-specific content, sql and beyond sql, with price in the last column. Analyst Builder, HackerRank each have at least one red cell, a column they don't cover. Dataford is the row built around one company and role, with loop guides, real questions, AI mocks and 1:1 coaching, at $29 a month or $89 a year. 01

Dataford

Dataford is interview prep for a specific company and role, across 80+ roles and 15,000+ companies. You pick the loop, like Data Analyst at Amazon or Data Engineer at Meta, and get a guide to each round, real questions past candidates were asked, AI mock interviews and SQL and Python practice where the loop needs it.

01Good for: Knowing what each round of your data loop tests, including the SQL round, and practicing the questions that company asks. It covers data science, data analytics, data engineering, product analytics, ML and software roles.
021:1 coaching: 40+ coaches with a verified-employer badge who work at companies like Meta, Google, Amazon, Databricks, Snowflake, Stripe and Netflix. Sessions are 60-minute mock interviews or strategy calls, about $109 to $339 per session, with written feedback afterward. Sessions are anonymous and nothing is recorded. Coaching launched on October 17, 2026 with 40+ coaches, and we expect to pass 500 in the next couple of months as we add a more human side to prep on Dataford. Every session runs inside Dataford itself, with no separate Zoom or Google Meet link, so booking, the mock and the feedback all sit in one place.
03Weaker on: If SQL is your only gap, a SQL-only tool like DataLemur costs less. Some company-role guides are built from a small number of reports, so treat their stats as rough.
04Price: $29/month or $89/year, same features on both plans.
05Scale: 51,000+ real interview questions and 86,000+ interview guides.
06Disclosure: I founded Dataford.
02

StrataScratch

StrataScratch has a large bank of company-tagged SQL and Python questions (1,000+ across SQL, Python and R), supports several SQL dialects, has non-coding data questions and hosted data projects, and offers AI mock interviews on Premium.

01Good for: Coding volume and take-home-style work for data roles.
02Weaker on: Less on how a company's whole loop is structured, and on product sense frameworks.
03Price: Free tier. $24/month, $139/year or $289 lifetime.
03

Interview Query

Interview Query covers the full data science loop: SQL, Python, statistics, A/B testing, product sense, ML, take-homes and company guides, with mock interviews in premium.

01Good for: Data scientists who need product sense and experimentation along with SQL.
02Weaker on: Costs more than SQL-only tools, and it's a lot to cover in a short sprint.
03Price: Monthly, yearly and $299 lifetime plans.
04

DataInterview

DataInterview is a course-led platform with a question bank, coding practice and AI mock interviews on its higher tiers.

01Good for: People who like structured courses with AI practice bundled in.
02Weaker on: The best AI features sit on the pricier plans.
03Price: Course is $20/month billed $240/year. Course + AI is $30/month billed $360/year.
05

Analyst Builder

Analyst Builder bundles courses in SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI and Python with practice questions in MySQL, PostgreSQL and MSSQL.

01Good for: Career switchers into data analytics who need to learn and practice in one place.
02Weaker on: Light on company-specific interview content.
03Price: Free plan. $34/month or $20.75/month billed yearly.
06

LeetCode SQL

LeetCode's SQL 50 study plan and Database problem set are the free default for SQL syntax practice.

01Good for: Fundamentals before you pay for a data interview bank.
02Weaker on: Problems feel more like puzzles than analytics interview questions, and company tags need Premium.
03Price: SQL 50 is free. Premium is $35/month or $159/year as listed in October 2026.
07

PracHub

PracHub publishes real interview questions by company and role, including SQL and data questions, with written solutions.

01Good for: Seeing which data questions a company asked recently.
02Weaker on: Full solutions are on Premium, and there's no human coaching.
03Price: Most questions are free. Premium is $27.99/month, $79.99 every 3 months or $119.99/year.
08

HackerRank

HackerRank has a free SQL practice track and an Interview Preparation Kit. Many companies use HackerRank for online assessments, so the editor is worth knowing.

01Good for: Free SQL reps and getting comfortable with a common assessment format.
02Weaker on: No company-specific loop prep.
03Price: Free for candidates.
